National...

Alliance Against Urban 4x4s
"The mission of the Alliance Against Urban 4x4s is to inform and unite groups of concerned citizens across the United Kingdom against the growing presence of 4x4 vehicles in urban areas.
The Alliance seeks to educate people about the environmental and social damage caused by the increasing numbers of urban 4x4s as well as promote sustainable forms of transport.
We will lobby for increases in congestion charges and road taxes for 4x4s and seek a ban on advertising in the mainstream media."

Block the Builders
"Block the Builders is a new campaign which aims to nonviolently prevent the building of a new laser facility at AWE Aldermaston, the first stage of a series of proposed developments which would enable AWE Aldermaston to build the next generation of nuclear weapons."

Campaign Against Arms Trade

Campaign Against Criminalising Communities (CAMPACC)
Aims and Objectives...
  • 1. To oppose all laws based on a pretext of counter-terrorism.
  • 2. To campaign for the repeal of such laws: the Terrorism Act 2000, the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act (ACTSA) 2001, and the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005.
  • 3. To oppose any measures which could criminalise mere association with a political organisation, or which involve detention without charge, or restrictions on freedom of speech, association or publication.
  • 4. To work in close association with affected communities and build the broadest possible alliance for civil liberties, human rights and universal values.
  • 5. To demand that everyone must be treated as innocent until proven guilty, that the right of habeas corpus be restored, and that there should be no punishment without trial (e.g. ‘control orders’).
  • 6. To defend the democratic freedom to dissent and to resist oppression, nationally and internationally.
  • 7. To oppose crimes against humanity, regardless of who (or what government) commits them.

Be a space for celebration, for kids and families, a place to socialise with friends old and new."

DEFY-ID
"A network for active resistance..." against the introduction of ID cards to the UK

Disarm DSEI
"Stop the War" (whichever war) is useless sloganeering unless it is accompanied by a commitment to stopping the global arms trade. War will never stop whilst weapon sales are a booming capitalist business worth in the region of $40 billion a year.
There are no borders, no limitations and certainly no morals when it comes to arms trading. Whilst countries such as the US and UK pretend to restrict the sale of arms, there are enough loopholes to enable dealers to trade whatever they like, to whoever they like.

Fight the pipe!
"Several years ago the government was put into a worrying position over the gas situation in the UK, it was realised that Britain now has a shortage of gas and that gas supply would have to come from external sources. With this panic in mind they basically told gas companies to do what ever they could to do ensure a good supply of gas.
National Grid have made plans to create a 115 mile pipeline to supply 20% of the supply of gas in Britain. The pipe will transport Liquid Natural Gas (LNG, gas that has been cooled to liquid form at -161°C) from Milford Haven in Pembroke, South Wales, to Tirley in Gloucestershire. The route will go through Pembroke, Camarthen, the Swansea Valleys, Brecon Beacons National Park, Hay on Wye and Ross on Wye.
This is a webpage designed for those against the National Grid monster pipeline, hoping to bring together all the information that has been scattered across the internet.
National Grid have successfully kept the development of this pipeline quiet, this webpage is an attempt to inform more people of the issues regarding the pipeline and as a support for all those who are against it. It came to our attention that people who are aware of the pipe have been fighting alone, not having any contact details of others with similar opinions. There are many groups of people involved for different reasons, we are all coming to together to simply say: “No Pipeline”"

Greenpeace UK

I Count Communities

Parliament Square Peace Campaign
"The website of Brian Haw, peace protestor and the Parliament Square Peace Campaign, supporting Brian and defending the right to protest near Parliament."

peacestrike.org
"We are a seriously motivated peaceful group of people who represent the large and silenced majority.
We oppose all forms of warfare and the perpetual insane cycles of violence and de-humanising behaviour aimed at the poorest and least poweful in our societies.
The UK and USA have been engaged for the past 4 years in a conflict with Iraq and Afghanistan, and we have also seen the destruction of the Lebanon by Israeli forces backed by the US. They have been using weapons containing depleted uranium that have a horrifying effect on people who are exposed to the radioactive particles, including UK and US soldiers (gulf war syndrome).
This is unacceptable. Nationally and internationally people have cried out against these unjustifiable and cruel wars that have cost the lives of hundreds of thousands, including women and children - hundreds continue to die each day. We therefore call upon all genuine and dedicated people to unite together for the purpose of calling action strikes. The real power a person has is to withdraw their labour, take a day off work, or from your usual routine and refuse to be used for that day so that we can make a serious protest that will be effective.
Our peace strike is independent and therefore not influenced by corporate funding or by political parties. We aim to stay true to our objective of campaigning for the end of warfare and armed conflict."

The groups which link to the network are organised in quite different ways from each other. They can become members of the twinning network if they agree with its aims..."

International...

Bombspotting
"Nuclear weapons are as criminal in NATO states as they are in North-Korea or Iran. The use of a nuclear weapon would break humanitarian law, and would be a war crime, no matter who uses it. NATO still deploys nuclear weapons and prepares its military to use them. We want to stop this preparation of war crimes! Bring nuclear weapons before the court."
